Influencer & UGC Marketplaces for UK Brands: How to Choose in 2026
What UK brands should look for in a creator marketplace — payment protection, fees, payout speed, GBP pricing and dispute handling — and how Nexus compares with Influee, Insense and Superfiliate.
Start with the money, not the features
Most platform comparisons list features. The questions that actually decide whether a marketplace works for a UK brand are simpler:
- Is the creator's fee held before work starts, and released on approval?
- What's the total cost — subscription plus marketplace fee?
- How quickly does the creator get paid once you approve?
- Is it priced and paid in GBP?
- What happens when a deal goes wrong?
Subscription-first vs pay-per-deal
Influee starts at $229 a month and Insense at $500 a month (after a $650 trial month), both before you've commissioned a single video. Superfiliate doesn't publish pricing — you book a demo. Those models suit brands running a dozen collabs a month; they're expensive if you're testing with two or three.
Nexus is pay-per-deal: a free plan with a 20% platform fee, or £29/£99 a month to bring that fee down to 15% and 10%. Nothing is charged until a deal is agreed.
Payout speed matters more than you think
Creators quote their best rates to platforms that pay fast. Influee's own help pages quote 5–10 working days; Insense 3–5 working days. Nexus releases funds to the creator within hours of approval. That difference shows up in the prices you're quoted.
Disputes: read the terms
Only some platforms publish what happens if content isn't delivered or isn't what was briefed. Influee's terms allow it to release, refund or split funds; Nexus has a formal dispute process with partial release built in. If a platform has no published process, assume you're on your own.
UK specifics
Billing in USD means card FX fees and messy VAT. Paying creators in dollars means they lose on conversion — and quote higher to compensate. Look for GBP pricing, UK bank payouts and UK GDPR handling as standard.
Where each platform fits
- Superfiliate — Shopify brands running affiliate/commission programmes at scale.
- Influee / Insense — brands commissioning high volumes of UGC each month who can absorb a fixed subscription.
- Nexus — UK brands who want escrow on every deal, GBP pricing, fast creator payouts and no subscription to start.
